About Newington High School's Advisory Program Website
The purpose of the website is to make resources easily available.
On this site are printable worksheets, containing either directions for activities, discussion questions, or directions for games. The majority of these have reflection questions to assist the student in focusing on the overall purpose. We encourage students keeping their responses to reflective questions as evidence. It is suggested that students have a folder (paper or electronic) for all their Advisory Program materials.
The site also contains a number of links to videos. Students may or may not agree with the message in the video, and that is okay. The videos exist merely to facilitate conversation. Most video clips have corresponding discussion questions, located in a link below the video. These discussion questions are a guide; it is not essential that these specific questions be utilized.
Informational resources are links to other websites that contain information pertaining to the page's topic(s). These resources are available so that students (or advisors) may get additional information if they would like. Although the Advisory Committee has worked to select reputable sites as links for the Informational Resources section on each page, ultimately, the Advisory Committee is not responsible for content on other organizations' websites. If any concerns arise, please contact a member of the Advisory Committee.
There is a section on each pages labeled "Games". While there are some games and game-like activities under the heading "Activities", it is our hope to build more games, ideally interactive games, moving forward. As a result, this section will remainder under construction for a little while.
While many activities, videos, and resource links have been placed on the website; the Advisory Committee will continue to update the website and add resources to fit the needs of our school.
Suggestions and feedback are always welcome. [email protected]
